BMN offers a remarkable Casa program which is tailored to meet the developmental needs of children ages 3 to 6 years of age. At this age and stage of development, children continue to explore their environment using their senses. Children are taught lessons individually or in a small group, based on their capabilities and interests. The children utilize concrete materials to learn abstract concepts (such as addition into the thousands), helping to familiarize them with concepts that will be revisited in lower elementary.
As our Casa program is based in reality, all materials are used in real life (glass, metal, etc.). The child is encouraged to move freely about their environment, choosing work that satisfies their inner needs. In these ways, independence and responsibility are encouraged.
Mixed age groupings, a hallmark of Montessori education, also help the child to develop leadership skills, as the children often learn from one another. There are five curriculum areas including: Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language and Culture (Science, Geography, History). Our Casa program also offers specialties such as French, Music and Physical Education.
We are pleased to offer both full day and half day Casa programs at two locations.
The full time child attends our Casa program from 8:45 am - 3:30 pm daily, five days per week.
The half day child attends our Casa program from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm daily, five days per week.
Please note that the half day program is only available for preschool aged children (3 years and under).
